Micro Modular Datacenters in the context of building the basic infrastructure for the digital society.
The datacenter is going to play an important role for the quality of the infrastructure that is going to support the functions in the digital, modern society. If it´s IoT, self-driving vehicles, AI-bots or smart factories, they all going to need compute power to work!

5G is entering the stage this year and this new standard need support from a distributed cloud or Edge computing to work properly.  That requires a datacenter close to the end user. To bring quality to this stage, we need, as open source innovators, to develop products and services with a holistic approach. The challenges we are facing is,
-Cost and energy efficiency - (will be solved within the OCP community)
-Maintainability - the large number of Micro MDC´s will drive the need for smart solutions that are easy to maintain.
-Sustainability - this is going to be most important issue to solve. The increasing energy consumption of the Datacenters will force us to reuse the wasted energy for new purposes.
-The integration of the DC´s in society – The Datacenters will become as common as the distributed power grid. Accessible data power will be on the same level as electricity power as a basic resource for the future society (in near time!)

All these challenges are soon to be solved, the way to succeed is spelled, Open innovation on all levels!
I will in my presentation share the reasons way we entered the open innovation society to develop our future product and services.
